Michigan Historical Society of World War II in Asia Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.
- George Santayana - Anyone without the heart of compassion is not a human being; anyone without the heart
of shame and dislike is not a human being; anyone without the heart of sympathy and courtesy is not a human
being; anyone without the heart of right and wrong is not a human being. - Mencius Our
Mission Michigan Historical Society of World War II in Asia, a non-profit and non-partisan organization, espouses
the study, research and dissemination of the truth of that chapter of world history, through founding memorial museums and
sponsoring events in order to prevent war and recurrence of its horrors. We hold that the proper closure of this
chapter of the world history requires an objective understanding, and candid acknowledgment, of the true story of that war,
so as to ensure sincere reconciliation and honorable peace among all the people concerned. We undertake this mission
with feeling of sympathy, and extended arms of friendship, for the people of Japan, as they also have been victims of Japan's
militarism. We earnestly hope that many of them will join us, as an increasing number of them have already begun, to urge
their government to apologize and compensate for the war crimes of its militarist past. Thus we appeal to all friends
in America and elsewhere to join us to hasten the healing process. For justice and peace with honor will prevail and endure
so long as people shall do to other people, regardless of their race or nationality, whatsoever they would that others should
do to them. As a member of the Global Alliance for Preserving the History of World War II in Asia, representing thirty
and plus grass-roots organizations worldwide, we are engaged in a joint effort to build a memorial museum for the victims
and for the Allies forces who paid the supreme sacrifice, so that the generations to come will not forget them, and will learn
the horrors of war and prevent their recurrence.

For the 300,000 Chinese People Killed in Nanjing Massacre during World War II. .. After the initial massacre
had run its course, the streets within the city were strewn with corpses, baggage, parcels, and all sorts of other miscellaneous
items. Not only were cars unable to pass through, even making one's way by foot was made difficult by the mess......
